Choosing a footprint
The base must be large enough for the top. The Meridian Steel Table Base comes in 17″, 22″ and 30″ round sizes supporting tops up to 30″ x 30″, 30″ x 48″, and 48″ x 48″ or 54″ round. The Corbel round base supports up to 56″ round at its 30″ size. For long communal tops, 5″ x 22″ 2-prong sizes on the Crest, Crown and Summit are used two per top and support tops up to 36″ x 96″. The Tower also comes as a 2-column base for tops up to 30″ x 60″. Our table base sizing guide has more on sizing.
Steel or cast iron outdoors
The Crown Cast Iron Table Base adds weight at the floor, which helps on windy rooftops and with heavier stone tops. Steel bases such as the Summit 4-prong are lighter to move. On the Crest, the black base is the finish treated for outdoor use.
Uneven ground
Every base has adjustable glides, which you can set to level tables on pavers or decking. Recheck them at the start of each season.
Assembly and tops
Bases ship unassembled: the column, base and top plate bolt together, and hardware is included. Tops are sold separately; choose from outdoor table tops. All seven bases also work indoors and appear in table bases.
Pricing
No minimum. Per-base pricing drops with quantity, and 100+ bases qualify for a volume quote.
Dining or bar height
Every outdoor base comes in dining and bar height. Bar-height bases pair with our outdoor bar stools for patio high-tops and rail-side tables, while dining height pairs with outdoor chairs.
Frequently asked questions
How do outdoor table bases hold up to weather?
They are specially treated for outdoor use and suited to patios and rooftops. On the Crest, the black base is the outdoor-treated finish. Check glides and hardware at the start of each season.
Can I use outdoor table bases indoors?
Yes. These bases are rated for indoor and outdoor use, which makes them a good choice for spaces with retractable walls, seasonal patios or tables that move between rooms.
Which outdoor base should I use for a long communal table?
Use two 2-prong bases, such as the 5″ x 22″ sizes on the Crest, Crown or Summit, which support tops up to 36″ x 96″. The Tower's 2-column base supports tops up to 30″ x 60″.
