Beechwood construction
European beechwood is dense and takes stain evenly, and most of our wood seating uses mortise-and-tenon joinery. Every stool is tested to 400 lbs, built to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards and shipped fully assembled. Wood-frame stools are for indoor, conditioned spaces; for outdoor bars see aluminum frame bar stools.
Choosing a finish
Stained-to-order models such as the Carver Bar Stool and Garnet Bar Stool are offered in finishes from natural and rustic oak to walnut, espresso and black/ebony, and ship in 2–3 weeks. They can't be cancelled or returned once ordered. When time is short, choose a stocked finish: the Bramble Bar Stool in walnut typically ships in 2–3 days, and the pre-stained walnut Forge Bar Stool ships in about 1 week.
Wood or upholstered seat
Several models, including the Carver, Flint, Fenway and Whitman, come with a wood seat or an upholstered seat. Wood seats wipe down fast at a busy service bar; upholstered seats suit longer stays. The Harlow and Chester add an upholstered back.
Heights and matching chairs
Listed seat heights run about 29.5–31.25″, which is bar height for 40–42″ bar tops. Most designs match a side chair in wood frame chairs, so you can order the bar and dining room in the same stain.
Pricing
The minimum is 4 stools per item, and you can mix seats or finishes of the same stool. Pricing drops at 6, 20, 60 and 100 pieces.
Care
Wipe frames with a damp cloth and dry them, and avoid harsh solvents that can dull the stain. Footrests take the most wear on any bar stool, so a quick wipe at close keeps scuffs from building up.
Frequently asked questions
Can wood bar stools be used outdoors?
No. Wood-frame seating is made for indoor, conditioned spaces. For outdoor bars, choose aluminum frame bar stools, which are rated for indoor and outdoor use and are UV-resistant.
How long do stained-to-order wood bar stools take?
Frames stained to order in your chosen finish ship in 2–3 weeks and can't be cancelled or returned. Pre-stained stocked finishes typically ship in 2–3 days, or in about 1 week where the product page says so.
Do the wood bar stools match your dining chairs?
Most do. Many beechwood stools share a design with a side chair, such as the Carver, Garnet and Mercer, so you can order both in the same stain.
