Stackable Restaurant Chairs

Stackable chairs save floor space and labor wherever seating moves: banquet rooms and event spaces that reset between functions, patios that close for the night or the season, and dining rooms that stack chairs to clean floors. Every chair on this page is a contract-grade model that stacks for storage, tested to 400 lbs and built to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards.

Indoor stackable dining chairs

The Milford Side Chair stacks up to 5 high, with a “wood grain” metal frame in an oak or walnut color and an upholstered seat and back in black faux leather. It suits banquet halls, hotel restaurants and event venues that want a finished look with quick room changes.

Stackable poly-molded chairs

Poly-molded (polypropylene) chairs are the lightest to move and stack, UV-resistant for year-round outdoor use and easy to wipe or hose down. The Isle Side Chair comes in eight colors; newer designs like the Jetty Side Chair and Skiff Side Chair add slatted backs. See all poly-molded chairs.

Stackable aluminum chairs

Aluminum does not rust and is easy to lift, which makes it the usual choice for patios, rooftops and pool decks. Choose “faux wood” slats like the Shoreline Side Chair, synthetic wood slats like the Sandbar Side Chair, woven textilene like the Mist Side Chair or faux wicker like the Seabrook Side Chair.

Stackable steel and metal chairs

Powder-coated steel is heavier than aluminum, so it stays put in wind. The Horizon Side Chair has a welded steel frame, and the Coral Side Chair has a perforated metal seat and back that drains after rain.

Stackable bar stools

For outdoor bars and high-tops, these aluminum-frame bar stools also stack for storage.

Tips for stacking and storing chairs

Stack chairs on a level floor, keep stacks within the height listed for each model, and carry stacks rather than dragging them. Store outdoor chairs clean and dry during the off-season to keep finishes looking new. For layout and spacing, see our restaurant seating layout guide, and for outdoor materials, our outdoor furniture guide.
